This week is turning out to be crazier than usual. As is typical for me when things start getting hectic, I turn to soft, neutral clothes. I love the pastel palette of this outfit and went a-la J. Crew again with just a bold lip color to give the look a bit of a kick. And thank you for all the support for this lipstick the last time I wore it — I finally mustered up the courage to wear it for work!
I also decided to try and convert this pencil skirt to more of a paperbag skirt. See that bunching of fabric and the little sash addition? Take notes, kids — this is a no-sewing needed DIY. 😉

Hey the orange lipstick looks fab on you! it's a nice kind of sheer colour 🙂 Have you tried L'Oreal's Elnet hairspray? I don't use hairspray often but I hear it has great hold and doesn't leave that icky sticky residue. Also did you tease your hair to make the pouf? Even just a little teasing makes a huge difference.

love the colored lip with neutrals look – i'm a fan! and you are totally rocking out the layered bracelet look….pretty!

i did tease like crazy and i actually did use the L'Oreal Elnet hairspray (what a coincidence!). it was huge when i left the house but it ended up deflating in a matter of minutes! maybe i should've used more hairspray…

Very cute outfit. I wore something similar to a job interview today and felt great about it! I love the lipstick, also; the color is just great!

Loving the pastels 🙂
Nice touch with the sash and paper bagging too. Too bad I don't actually have a pencil skirt to convert! Come to think about it I hardly wear skirts to work.

I love the color blocking. That bow is really cute too.
I sometimes use Treseme Dry Shampoo, which adds a lot of texture, so that makes it easier to work with or tease up. And it's inexpensive. 😉

When things get hectic for me, I tend to wear a lot of black and gray..it's almost like somber day = somber colours! Excellent job on turning a pencil skirt into a paperbag, and I love these colours you combined altgother! Also you look beautiful in bright lipstick, I started to venture into it for fall, it takes some getting used to but it really shows up nicely in photos! 😀
Kileen says
oh thanks for the rec! i've heard good things about that one too and will have to try it out!
Elle says
hehe very clever what you did to create the paperbag skirt effect, I'll have to steal the idea from you. 😀
