I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving {US readers, at least}!! Mine was spent in El Paso celebrating with Adrian’s family for the first time. My family normally doesn’t do turkey for the holidays so it was quite a change to have turkey 3 meals in a row {turkey tacos are surprisingly delicious}. Adrian and I did prelude our eating festivities with a little 5K turkey trot on Thursday morning and it was a great way to kick off the holiday festivities.
For the first time this year, I also skipped out on all Black Friday shopping. I’ve been so tired lately {with this whole pregnancy thing} that sleeping in was hands-down the better option in my book. I did end up walking into an Apple store though and upgraded my phone to the 4S, but I really don’t consider it a Black Friday purchase as it was something I’ve been trying to do in Dallas ever since the launch of the new phone {Dallas stores have been out of stock every time}.
Overall, I had an incredible holiday and although I had originally planned on blogging the entire time, the slow internet connection combined with the almost constant nausea and fatigue that I’ve had lately gave me reason enough to take a little break. I came back home to wintery cold weather here in Dallas and was happy to have to actually take out my favorite red “holiday coat”. Somehow this bright red color always puts me in the holiday spirit. 🙂

you look soo happy kileen! love all the colors you are wearing! i can't wait to have this baby so i can wear colored pants (they don't make too many in maternity styles and i'm not a huge fan of the belly band)~!
Kileen says
you'll be wearing colored pants soon enough! i'm taking advantage now that I haven't started showing to still wear some of my favorite pants, lol.
Sayaka says
Oh my gosh I didn't know you were pregnant!! Well at least you don't look like it at all!! I'm so excited for you. Your going to love motherhood 🙂 I love the blue pants on you!!

Mmmmmm turkey tacos sound delicious! Sorry you were nauseous. My daughter did that to me. I couldn't even brush my teeth without gagging. I don't know if you have heard of this, but they sell these things called Preggy Pops and they are supposed to help with nausea. I love your pretty red coat!
Marissa Huggins says
Ginger tea really helps with the nausea and the 2nd trimester is better, trust me. I've been there!
Kileen says
Thanks so much for the tip! Gotta get my hands in some ginger tea!!
Kileen says
Ooh, looking up Preggy Pops now!

No turkey for Thanksgiving? You mean your fam has never done turkey congee with leftovers?
Kileen says
Lol, surprisingly no although turkey congee sounds good! We always did hot pot or just had dumplings. 🙂

Aww, so sorry to hear you are battling morning sickness! Is it the all day type or just at certain periods of the day? It will go away, I promise! I unfortunately don't have any good remedies but have heard good things about those nausea wrist bands – maybe give those a try?
Love your blue pants! Once Baby grows enough for you to show a little bit, I recommend getting a Bella band so you can wear your regular pants / skirts.

Love this outfit, especially that scarf! I'm thisclose to getting a pair of cobalt pants, just trying to decide if I'm going to buy them or dye the white jeans I got on sale! Decisions, decisions.

right now the morning sickness is pretty much all day. surprisingly enough today has been pretty good. saltines have been a savior lately and i'm trying ginger tea next. and i saw those Bella bands at Target the other day — we'll see when I'll need to go back and pick one up! i've also heard about the nausea wrist bands but am kinda wary about those things (if nothing else works, i might end up getting one though!)… thanks again for all the tips. 🙂

I feel like I'm over-saled … not because I bought too much, but because there are too many sales going on! I'm just ducking my head until Cyber Monday is done!
Samantha says
What a fun red coat!! I can see why it puts you in the holiday spirit! Glad you spent some time relaxing (and in El Paso)! I'm sure you needed some relaxation time. A lot of people said the deals on Good Friday weren't great. (I stayed in and organized!)
