Can you tell that I’m actually wearing what was a maternity dress under this skirt? It was all sorts of poofy in the belly area when I initially bought it, but it wasn’t anything that a little tailoring couldn’t fix. The length of the dress also fit perfectly underneath this pencil skirt {good thing there’s no back slit!} so it was pretty much asking to be paired together. And I thought about adding a skinny belt originally but ended up going with a wider elastic belt. I think it smooths out the transition between the ribbing texture of the dress and skirt, dontcha think?

That is a lovely print! I think I need more dresses so I can wear them as tops! The shoes are great with your skin tone, too. I never found any comfy strappy nude sandals this summer :/

This is a beautifully streamlined outfit! Shows off your curves perfectly. The pleating and print are lovely on the dress and that belt pulls everything together.

Oh I love this outfit! It's got a lovely shape and the colours are nice, the floral print is so cute too, kinda retro. Way to salvage an awesome dress. I've been wearing dresses as tops lately too, it's fun.

Wow, I LOVE that dress! What beautiful detailing! I'm always tempted to shop the maternity section (not because I'm pregnant, but because the clothes are often really cute!). Good move on the alteration!

The layering trick I love doing and it's crazy that I would have never known they were separate pieces. They fit perfectly together and the wide belt was a great choice!
I'm loving all the make-up looks you've been doing lately! 🙂

GAH! Hands down one of my fave outfits of yours. I know you posted this last week, but still catching up on my blog reads. I'm nuts about the combination of chevron and striped pintuck (?) detailing on the dress and skirt. And the colors are so pleasant!
