The Challenge:
Who is your celeb style icon? Pick an outfit from your favorite celeb and show us how to recreate that look for less. Usually, your style icon reflects your personal style and also your body type. In this challenge, your style icon doesn’t have to be a petite.
My style icon: Alexa Chung
I love Alexa’s casual yet sophisticated style. She has a creative fashion sense and has the ability to mix and match different pieces to create a truly unique look.
The look that I’m recreating:
This is definitely not an outfit I would wear outside of the house! I already ditched the tie that Carrie is sporting and switched it out for a long black necklace instead, but even with these changes, I feel uncomfortable in this outfit. It was definitely a fun look to try out, but I certainly don’t have the guts to wear this out. Maybe some of you ladies are bolder than me… ^_^
Here’s a quick video of the looks:

You look terrific! I especially like the Rachel Weisz look. I wish I knew how to wear snakeskin because it looks amazing on you. I am so impressed by you, THREE LOOK, I had trouble coming up with one. 🙂
Ping says
my fave is the first look! cute cute!
I am Khatu says
cute, love the tights in the second look!

It's awesome that you found three looks to recreate! Like Elle, I had trouble with one! It seems like that black blazer is getting a lot of mileage with your looks and my favorite look is the last one because it looks so classic. A close second is the second outfit since it's so different but I'd switch out the button up shirt for a tee. =)

Whoa girl you did THREE looks?!? I could barely get one!!!! I really like the last look, but you rocked them all!
PetiteAsianGirl says
THREE looks and a video? I'm with curls I could barely do one : ) My fave is the second. The inspiration looks almost trashy but your outfit looks chic. I also liked seeing those tights on little dust princess…I want!
Alterations Needed says
Whoa! You went all out! Impressive! I struggled just to get one. =P
I love your tweed shorts! Jealous! That look is definitely my favorite.
The Little Dust Princess says
I loveee Alexa Chung's style. Her outfits always inspire me. While her outfit looks a bit more laidback (perhaps it's her slouched shoulders and pose?), yours looks a bit more formal and classy. Still a very good interpretation though!!! I love your version better than hers!
I like your version of Carrie Underwood's outfit better than her own!! I saw those heart suspender tights on ASOS and wanted to get them so badly!! They look great on you 😀 I really need to purchase them for my next order.

I love the first look!! 🙂 You look GREAT! Love the skirt! 🙂
Cee says
I can't believe you did 3 looks! And not only that, they all look great!! I love Carrie Underwood's recreation the best. I'm glad you went with the necklace instead of a tie.
Nelah says
I especially like your first and third look. Boy I wish I could wear heels the way you do.
Em says
The Alexa look! Nothing is like a good pair of heels but sometimes us small girls need to revel in our smallness 🙂 Great job with all the looks.
Diana says

Wow, you did three!!? Great job on recreating each of these looks. I think my favorite is the first, adorable!
TinyInTexas says
Wow I admire you for doing three! I had to barely scrape even one together! Lol. You look great in all of them, but I think my fave is the first one! Cute!
PetiteXXS says
I can't believe you did so many looks! I actually kinda like the 2nd look, even though hubby probably wouldn't let me wear it out 😛
PetiteLittleGirl says
Thank you for taking the time to do 3 looks. You did such a great job on recreating them. My favorite is the first one just because I would see myself wearing this outfit.
Kiki says
Nice work with the three looks! I think I may 'borrow' look #1 for work next week! 🙂
Erin says
Wow I can't believe you were able to do 3 looks! I love them all, but I think I like Rachel's best.
Michelle says
I really love your tweed shorts! You mentioned you would feel weird going out like that…I think you would feel more comfortable in them if you wore plain black tights and heels without too much detail (your L.A.M.B. shoes are amazing, though!). Both Elle of Fast Food & Fast Fashion and The Little Dust Princess wore shorts wih tights nicely!
I love seeing what you did with the blazer look!
Thanks for taking the time to show us three looks! 🙂
Gracie says
OooOO!! Three looks, such a treat!! I think my favorite is Rachel's recreation; the overall look of it is gorgeous. LOl, I also love those heels!
Carrie's outfit looks great on you with the change in the neck wear, I think the necklace is definitely a better choice.
