Wearing an all black dress to work can be kinda tricky. On the one hand, you don’t want to look like you’re going to a black-tie formal. On the other hand, you also don’t want to look like you’re going to a funeral. So, this is what I came up with.
One of my favorite color combinations is black and hot pink. But since hot pink isn’t quite work appropriate, I opted for a nice red instead. The dress originally came with a solid black skinny belt, but I swapped it out for a skinny red one instead from a Forever 21 skirt (shown previously). I also have had some red pumps that I’ve always had trouble pairing up with, so I decided today was the perfect day for them to make a debut. And lastly, to throw a little more color into the mix and to save myself from freezing to death, I added a mustard yellow cardigan that I snagged at Target from a few weeks ago. I think it was just the right amount of color and variety that made this all-black dress suitable for the workplace!

I think hot pink in moderation could be work appropriate, but I like the yellow + red combo more than say, yellow + hot pink.
I think my favorite part of this outfit is the necklace, a perfect statement necklace with a classy outfit. Great job!

Haha I read the title and I scrolled down very slowly so I could guess what article of clothing would be the "flash of red." You tricked me, though!! There were two!
But they both look fabulous, especially with the contrast from the mustard cardigan, so all is forgiven =P
