It’s the weekend!! I meant to have this post up earlier today but Mei ended up with a stomach bug and last night became quite the night of rocking her to sleep and cleaning up the food that she couldn’t keep down. Thankfully she’s been doing better today and I have a few minutes to myself now to finish this post for you! I’m also hoping to start a weekly Coffee Talk series on Fridays where I can share some of what’s happening in my life behind the scenes — basically what I would gab to my girlfriends about if we were to go out on a coffee date! I haven’t quite figured out the format that works best but I figure I can just share a bit with each Instagram shot for this week. So anyways! Put on some music (I’m jamming out to this song right now) and let’s catch up! : )
custom Hello Kitty cake from Tous Les Jours Bakery (similar cake topper ideas here, here and here)
pink pom pom dress (similar), drop earrings (love these) (full outfit post)
Hello Kitty birthday tutu (similar, love this tee!)
My little Mei celebrated her 2-year birthday a couple weeks ago and I threw a little Hello Kitty party for her. She’s obsessed with all things cats and Hello Kitty especially, so of course a Hello Kitty party was the perfect way to mark her special day. I had this custom Hello Kitty cake made for the occasion (if you live in the DFW area, Tous Les Jours is an amazing asian bakery and you need to check out their bread pastries!). Mei wore this Hello Kitty tutu outfit and it was just the cutest ever! I can’t even believe my baby girl is already 2 now… #wasntijustpregnant??
Meanwhile, we’re leaving tomorrow to go on a short weekend trip to Los Angeles, California (just me and the kids) to celebrate my grandma’s 90th birthday. I was a little nervous booking the flight as I’ll be traveling on my own with both kids but I’m actually really looking forward to seeing some extended family as well a change of scenery (LA needs to stop raining!). I’m only there for a couple of days but let me know if there’s any place I need to check out! I’m hoping to at least take a picture next to the angel wings wall!
Top: lace-up sweater – runs big
Earrings: BaubleBar ‘Crispin’ Drops (similar, similar – on sale!, similar)
I love love love the lace-up style and have been slowly dabbling in this trend as I don’t want anything too revealing or risque. I picked up this lace-up sweater and have been living in it on weekends at home. It does run a bit big but I personally love that it’s a little oversized as I can wear it off the shoulder or even as a tunic with tights and over-the-knee boots for going out!
Top: Forever 21 pink cowl sweater (old, similar, similar)
Bottom: Flare Midi Skirt
Shoes: Vince Camuto pumps (old, similar – on sale!, similar, similar)
Scarf: H&M purple floral scarf (old, similar)
I found my exact skirt restocked again and had to share one of my favorite looks from 3 years ago (seriously, how has it been that long??). There’s something so ladylike about a midi skirt and this flare one is so pretty! I actually remember thinking that the skirt was too poufy when I first tried it on and kept pushing it down to keep it from fluffing up so much. Now when I look at it though, I think it’s not poufy enough!
Dress: Crochet Cutout Dress (similar, similar, similar)
Shoes: Steve Madden ‘Carrson’
Bag: Tory Burch ‘Fleming’ (similar, similar)
Earrings: BaubleBar ‘Crispin’ Drops (similar, similar – on sale!, similar)
Watch: Christian Paul 35mm ‘Bondi’ Luxe c/o
I went to a bar mitzvah last weekend and omg, it was so much fun! There was a DJ who was leading the group with dance moves and had everyone out on the dance floor (although the open bar certainly helped too!). I was surprised that these shoes didn’t hurt my feet all night as I was out dancing for a solid 2-3 hours — enough so that I felt like I had gotten a workout in!
Top: J.Crew Pom Pom Sweater – on sale + extra 30% off w/ WEEKEND (similar)
Bra: Wacoal
Bottom: Treasure & Bond Boyfriend Jeans (old, similar, similar)
Lipstick: Elizabeth Arden in ‘Power Red’
Godiva Chocolates (one, two, three)
Meanwhile how was your Valentine’s week? Godiva sent me a few boxes of chocolate and I have to say that their chocolates are my favorite (plus their packaging is always so cute!). You can kinda see my lashes in this picture and I’m so happy to say that I finally found an amazing lash girl who doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for extensions and does an incredible job with my extensions (this picture was actually taken right before I needed a fill). A full set of lashes is under $100 (I think it’s $80 — it’s been awhile since I had to get a full set!) and fills are only $20. I’ve had issues in the past where extensions have damaged my natural lashes but that is definitely not the case here. If you’re in the Dallas area and are interested in extensions, email me and I can give you her contact info and hook you up!
Dress: Ombre Bandage Dress – wearing S, size up! (similar, similar, similar)
Shoes: JustFab Red Bow Pumps (old, love these!, similar, similar)
Earrings: BaubleBar ‘Crispin’ Drops (similar, similar – on sale!, similar)
One of my favorite dresses that I wore out last weekend to get dinner at one of my favorite restaurants — HG Sply. Their steamed mussels appetizer is amazing and you have to get a seat on their rooftop patio to watch the sunset! And if you’re in Dallas, I’m a big fan of Lyft and have been using it almost every weekend the past few months whenever I go out as parking has just been a nightmare. Lyft just announced their premiere service for the Dallas area where you can request a high-end car such as a Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, etc and arrive to your destination in style! Use my code CUTEDFW for $50 in ride credits!
Jacket: J.Crew Tweed Jacket – wearing 00P (mine is from last year), on sale! (also here, similar)
Top: J.Crew ‘Tippi’ Sweater in soft peony (on sale + extra 30% off w/ WEEKEND)
Earrings: BaubleBar ‘Merengue’ Drops (also here, similar)
Sunglasses: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
I’ve been all about the statement earrings lately and I’ve been doing quite a bit of damage with Baublebar (you probably noticed already that these Crispin drops are on repeat in this roundup!). Seriously, how cute are these mini hoops with tassels on them? I love the mix of colors and they’re perfect for adding a bit of fun to a basic look!
Top: Lululemon Tank (old, similar, similar)
Bottom: Lululemon Wunder Under Pant (old, similar)
This pic is old from 3 years ago when I went to the Wanderlust Festival and tried out aerial yoga for the first time, but I posted this after hearing that Cirque de Soleil was coming to Dallas for their Kurios show! I saw them years ago in Vegas and it was such an incredible show that I couldn’t be more exited to see them again.
Meanwhile I’ve been getting my fitness on and after a few months at the end of last year when I was really neglecting the gym. While I cancelled my Equinox membership, I’ve since been doing Orange Theory classes a few time a week (you may have seen it on my Insta stories) and also purchased ClassPass to check out a few other studios around town! First off, Orange Theory is seriously amazing and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a better workout than from their classes. I’ve been pretty good about going there twice a week and have been mixing in other classes too at places like Barre3, TreadBarre, and We Yogis (my favorite yoga studio + they have childcare!). Tomorrow I’m signed up for a class at Burn and am anxious to see how it compares to Orange Theory! I did pick up some more Lululemon goodies and I cannot recommend these crop pants enough — the new Nulu fabric is buttery super soft that it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing anything while looking good even when you’re sweating like crazy!
Top: J.Crew ‘Tippi’ Sweater in soft peony (on sale + extra 30% off w/ WEEKEND)
Bottom: J.Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt (similar, similar)
Necklace: Micha Store ‘Sabrina’ Necklace c/o (similar, similar)
Shoes: JustFab White Pumps (old, similar, similar)
Watch: Lord Timepieces Classic Black c/o – save 10% w/ CUTE (similar)
Bag: Gucci ‘Disco’ (similar – 30% off w/ WEEKEND)
I’ve been on a big pink kick and this sweater was probably worn at least a couple times a week! I decided to just go monochromatic with this outfit and kinda loved how it looked! I’ve gone on and on about the J.Crew No. 2 pencil skirts before but they’re now on sale plus an additional 30% off with code WEEKEND. They come in several different colors and are a timeless wardrobe classic (I’ve seriously worn some of mine for over 6 years!).
Jacket: J.Crew Tweed Jacket – wearing 00P (mine is from last year), on sale! (also here, similar)
Top: J.Crew ‘Tippi’ Sweater in soft peony (on sale + extra 30% off w/ WEEKEND)
Bottom: AG Legging Ankle Jeans – 20% off!! (similar – only $64)
Shoes: JustFab White Pumps (old, similar, similar)
Necklace: Stella & Dot Pendant Necklace (old, similar)
Watch: Armitron Rose Gold / Grey Watch c/o
Bracelet: Kate Spade Bow Bangle (similar – under $50!)
I’ve been trying to go out more the past few weeks and wore this look out for a brunch with some other Dallas bloggers — if you’re in Dallas you have to check out Meddlesome Moth down in the Design District! This tweed jacket is another favorite of mine (I own it in 2 colors, it’s that good!) and it’s my go-to piece when I want to look put together but not like I put a lot of effort into it.
Top: Express Floral Lace Blouse (full outfit post)
Earrings: BaubleBar ‘Crispin’ Drops (similar, similar – on sale!, similar)
Lipstick: Elizabeth Arden in ‘Power Red’
Flowers: Bouquet in a Box c/o
And finally, because pretty flowers always make me happy. How gorgeous is this bouquet from Bouquet in a Box? I love that they are a small grower opearated family business and actually handpick all their flowers. They have the most gorgeous flower arrangements and all their blooms are sourced directly from California instead of overseas. They came just in time for Valentine’s Day and I already know that I’ll be ordering from them when Mother’s Day rolls around! You may remember this floral top that I wore previously here but they’ve since released it in petite sizing! Also, I picked up this new red lipstick last weekend and have been wearing it non-stop! I’ve struggled with finding reds that are flattering on my skin tone but this one has just enough of an orange hue to add a bit of warmth. The formula is plumping and glides on super smooth!
