We’re having one scorcher of a weekend! Temperatures have already climbed over 100 degrees and it’s time to break out the t-shirts and short shorts. This was my post-scuba for running errands around town in preparation for my Africa trip on Friday. I was able to find a pair of shorts to wear on safari as well as get a thermal shirt to wear for those chilly 40 degree nights where I’ll be camping in a little tent. I’m super excited for Africa and have even started learning some Swahili here and there (should I be worried that “cheetah” is the first common Swahili word they recommend that you learn?)
P.S. In case you missed it:
- Color Brigade Vol 5 – 33 lovely looks so far! Have you entered yet?
- TIKKR Watch Giveaway! – Open internationally! Ends 3/28.

It's getting hot in Ohio too. I think it's going to be in the 90s tomorrow which I am not complain 🙂 You look good in shorts, Kileen. I can't wait to see your honeymoon pictures from Africa. That's so cool. Have a safe trip!

100 degrees! Wow. And here we are still able to wear tights and cardigans…
I can feel from this post how super excited you are about the safari. How safe is camping in the wild? I'm sure you'll have other people around, right? I only know to say, Jambo! in Swahili. 🙂
Kileen says
i think the camping situation should be ok. we're going with a safari
company and they're telling us where to set up everything. and yes, we're
actually going in a group of 7 people (it's a college reunion of sorts
too)! and i just learned jambo the other day too!

Those shorts are crazy cute! The pumps add a sexy edge to battling the heat. Almost as if you're BRINGING the heat rather than beating it because you look hot here! 🙂

Your hair looks good loose around your shoulders. Enjoy your safari. Bring some heels – could be good weapon against cheetahs!

Oh that look is so cute. I love the shorts. If only I could have warm weather to break mine out too! It's about 6 degrees celsius here, so in the 40s. Summer is not making its way here.
Kileen says
Wow, that's super cold!! Hope you're staying warm!

Africa? That's awesome! Have fun! I love how you can rock the heels with any outfit! My tired old feet have to mentally prepare for heels.

You are going to Africa? So excited for you, Kileen. 🙂 It's finally getting warmer. We have been having some 80 degree days and I'm not complaining. Over 100 is a bit too uncomfortable, isn't it? Do you get humidity too?
Kileen says
Woohoo for warmer weather!! We do get humidity unfortunately but Dallas isn't nearly as bad as Houston (where I lived for 4 years for college). And I'll take hot weather over cold any day! 🙂

That's a fantastic look for you! I've been lurking around your blog for a while now, and I love seeing all your outfits. The shorts really make your legs look longer; that second picture was just awesome.

Cute outfit Kileen! I love how you're confident enough to wear shorts with heels. I always feel so self conscious if I pair miniskirts or shorts with taller shoes. I think I'm a little more modest about my style….and also I don't want to draw attention to myself haha 😛
Kileen says
thank you!! and so glad to "meet" you too! 😀

Oh, I LOVE seersucker! Very cute shorts!

Really Petite says
Oooo love those shorts! Do they fit perfectly on you? F21 shorts are always too wide in the waist…You look amazing! Love this outfit!
Kileen says
The sit kinda low on me — closer to my hips than to my waist. But I don't
mind that much as these shorts are kinda low-rise anyways and would be too
short if on my natural waist. 🙂
