Spring is around the corner and I have a vacation on my mind! Now that we have two little ones who are both over 2 years old though, flying can easily be quite the expensive investment so we’ve been considering possibly taking a road trip. Can you believe I’m still driving the same car I bought when I first graduated college? It’s going on 13 years now and has nearly 145,000 miles on it… Needless to say, things have slowly started breaking down with it in the past few years and we’ve been talking that it’s time to buy a new car. It looks like this will finally be the year that it happens and to be honest, I’m kinda dreading the whole thing. I’ve never been big on haggling and having to go through the process of researching different cars and prices only to go back and forth with sales people to negotiate a deal has always seemed like such a pain.

I’ve been on the fence as far as what kind of car to buy next. I’m in a compact Sedan now and while it was perfect for when I was single without kids, it’s just a bit too cramped with two kids now. And so I’ve been thinking… should we get a SUV (would it be too big?), a crossover (is it really that much bigger than just a Sedan?), or a minivan (can I really see myself in a minivan??). Meanwhile, I recently learned about the Capital One® Auto Navigator® website that is set to make the whole car-buying process easier! The site has over 3 million cars available at more than 12,000 dealerships across the country and its easy to filter by make, model, and even monthly payment. I can even see if I pre-qualify for auto financing before I even leave for the dealership (with no risk to my credit score!). I’m given personalized APR and monthly payments on each car and can see dealer ratings, car reviews, and even car history reports all in one place. For such a complicated process as buying a new car, the Capital One® Auto Navigator® tool makes it so much easier and more transparent! I love that I can get all the information I need so that I can show up at the dealership confident and prepared. The DFW Auto Show will also be in town next week (March 22 – 26) and Capital One will have a unique Auto Navigator Garage setup with website demos, an interactive photo booth, and even see a Chip Foose custom-designed car! The show is one of the largest new car and truck shows in the nation and I know it’ll be a great chance to check out some of the latest car trends and technology too.
Are you in the market for a new car or have recently purchased one yourself? What do you do when you buy a new car? I’d love to know how the car-buying process went for you!
