Nothing crazy for me this Halloween, unless you consider these leopard pumps crazy.  I usually only try out more "adventurous" outfit choices on Fridays but since today was a day for costumery, I figured that nobody would even notice if I decided to sport a little leopard on the feet.  :)

I kept the majority of my outfit neutral and simple, letting the accessories do all the talking.  Not only are the leopard print pumps an eye-catcher, but let's not forget this color-blocked bag.  With its soft supple leather and perfectly sized to wear both cross-body or as a clutch, I'm head over heels in love with it.  The combination of both cognac and black colors actually make it versatile enough to match up with every outfit too! 

And last but not least, how cool is this little cool necklace?  With a combination of both big and small cubes made out of delicate gold plating, it's statement jewelry that's both bold and delicate at the same time.  Just my style!

And how could I forget, today is also Color Brigade Day!   The winner of last week's feature is Jane of Jane Squared rocking a green, coral, and plaid look.   Who else is in love with her skirt?  Totes need it in my closet!

Our cold front came and went and we're back up to temps in the 70s! Since the weather here has been so fickle, I decided to create an outfit that was just as confused of a combination -- winterized on top but summer-ready on bottom.  Does putting these two extremes together produce a fall outfit baby then?

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I'm off to bed early as I have a crazy busy week ahead of me and need all the sleep I can get.

I've been eyeing the bright dahlia capri pants on J. Crew's website for months now, but at $118 it was a little hard to justify considering I don't wear pants that often. And so when I was browsing the last Old Navy sale and ran across these pink pants for only $15, I had to give them a shot.

I am so surprised at the fit of these pants! For my fellow petites out there, I have never had any luck with being able to fit into any pants from Old Navy. Even their size 0's previously have been big in the waist and hips. So you can imagine how astonished I was to find that these actually didn't look like they were about to fall off of me after zipping them up! And even though these are regular inseam, I actually really like how they hit right above my ankle {the perfect length for capri pants on petites, I think!}.

These pants are definite keepers.  For those who are a bit more wary about wearing bright colors, having the bright colors away from your face and instead in the lower half of your body actually draws less attention to you while still allowing you to have fun with your wardrobe. I'm already imagining all the remixing opportunities these pants are gonna give me.  :)

[UPDATE]: I've decided to sell my Lulu's National Lace Cream Skirt (styled here and sold out everywhere) as the waist is just too big on me.  Asking $38 + ship.  Let me know if you're interested!

With another cold front coming in late last night, I was able to break out into my first real sweater of the season. For this look, I mixed in a bit of masculine with my normally very feminine style to create something a little different. The wide stripes and boxy cut of the sweater remind me of a typical guy's "rugby shirt", but I made it a bit more feminine by layering a pink shirt underneath and adding some skinny jeans.  Of course, the heels helped too. 

And I'm trying out some Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray on these curls tonight {bought in my recent Sephora Friends & Family haul}.  Let's see how they turn out tomorrow.  :)

This outfit combined a lot of my favorite things:  scalloped edges, red pencil skirts, and colored pumps.  I especially love how colored pumps can be the statement piece of a particular look.  My first experiment with colored pumps was actually last year when I picked up 3 pairs from Forever 21 in mustard, olive, and grey when I noticed that they were only $15 each and in a rare size 5.  Almost a year later, they're probably one of my most worn shoes to date!  And so when I noticed these teal pumps on sale on the Bakers website, I had to try them out!

These shoes {both the teal and taupe colors actually!} are now sitting happily in my closet...much to the dismay of my budget.  I'm dreading this month's budget recap already, so let's just focus on how awesome these shoes are for now.  :)

Petite Fashion Challenge #11: Vacation Vogue

The challenge:

Put together an outfit made for sightseeing. It should be one that will be comfortable for walking around in and can last you from the early morning until dinner and drinks in the evening. Plus, you're on vacation, so you'd better make sure you look good in photos, which you'll have for years to come.

 For my daytime look, I chose something simple but layered as you never know how the weather might change from morning to night.  Not only is the blazer great for warmth, but a nice fitted one also really helps pull together everything in a look {regardless of how disheveled you might actually be from traveling!}.

I paired heels with my look because even though I might not end up wearing them the entire day, I at least want to have them available for pictures!  And that's where the satchel bag comes in handy -- a pair of flats is definitely an item I don't leave home without if I'm going to be sightseeing!  This bag is the perfect size to stow away flats as well as heels so that I can look photogenic and comfortable all day.

Wallet/Purse: Louis Vuitton - gifted from parents (similar MK one for <$100)

To transition to an evening look, I switched out the blazer and satchel for a pair of glitzy earrings and a wallet clutch {both of which can be carried in the satchel!}.  I'm a firm believer that accessories can completely transform a look, so here is the proof!

And now that I have the vacation fashion down, all I need now is the vacation... :)

There's nothing better than starting off a work week with a cheery pink and navy combo. I love the crepe finish of this skirt, so I decided to experiment and combine it with a chiffon top and a faux leather belt. Mixing up different textures is one of the easiest ways to add something different to a look, colorful or not.
