The highs were supposed to be in the upper 50s today, so I took a chance and went bare-legged for the first time in weeks {which was nice but I was shivering by the end of the day}. One of my favorite purchases from this summer was a Forever 21 lace and mustard pleated skirt dress {see full dress here}. I've been wearing the dress like a skirt like crazy, but today was actually the first time I layered another sweater over the entire dress without first folding the top portion over under my skirt... Little did I know you could still see where the top top of the dress cut me off under the sweater {definitely a mistake that won't be happening again!}.

I really love the mixing of navy with mustard but found that on its own, this sweater was a little bit loose and boxy when worn naturally over the dress. Fortunately it wasn't anything that a little tucking and belting didn't solve. And this little bow belt was the perfect touch of cuteness that had me smiling all day.  And so while some things didn't work quite as well as I would've hoped in this outfit, other things worked out nicely.  Funny how at age 30 I'm still learning how to get dressed.  :)

One of the best things I've learned this year is wearing dresses as skirts! It totally tricked me, I really thought you were wearing a skirt, mustard and navy look really cute together!

That dress sure is a beautiful shade of mustard.  And it is wonderful with the navy sweater.  I love how you tucked, folded, and belted everything to perfection!

I have always been a fan of this dress on you--either as a skirt or dress.  And I love the color combo happening here.  The bow belt is a fabulous added glam.  Looking lovely Kileen!

I love navy and mustard also - this is a very good look - and if you had not mentioned anything about the dressing cutting the top, I would not have noticed.  It looks great to me.

You sure are getting a ton of wear out of this dress! Love the color combo and the belt adds a nice touch:)

How are you feeling Kileen?

thanks Annie! as for me, I feel like I've been sick for the last month -- super tired and nauseous all the time. But just one more month to go and then "supposedly" it gets better. *crossing my fingers*

Love it! Definitely love mustard and navy together - and you remix this dress/skirt so well!

Navy and mustard are so great together! I did the same thing with a dress under a sweater a few weeks ago :( A jacket probably would have served me well and covered up the lines. I love the bow belt! It's my favorite piece in the outfit.

What a beautiful woman you are.  You are a ray of sunshine with your many posts.  This one is equally lovely.  This combination of purple/violet and gold with skin-tone pumps is lovely.  Kileen cuteness yet again!  :)
