I can't believe it's September already!  I'm all for the cooler weather, but I still have a backlog of summer dresses I need to wear.  Fortunately the summer weather keeps on going strong here in Texas well into October, so hopefully I can still make myself wear the rest of my summer wardrobe before fall seeps in...

I've had this dress sitting in my closet for almost a month and am just now getting around to wearing it.  Why?  I couldn't figure out the right shoes.  #fashiongirlproblems right?  I tried on almost every pair of shoes from my collection, and just when I was about to give up after creating nearly a knee-high pile of rejected shoe, I saw these six-inchers staring at me from the corner.  I never would've thought that such clunky platforms would go with such a light girly dress, but maybe it was just this contrast of styles that made these shoes work.  What do you think?

soft ochre paint pot, unwind eyeshadow, club eyeshadow, dark devotion eyeshadow, sweetjoy eyeshadow, nightfish fluidline, shiseido nourishing mascara base, maybelline one by one mascara, stila hydrating primer, studio finish concealer in NW20, fresh faces sheer neutral light foundation, stereorose msf blush, lollipop loving lipstick

And, if you haven't checked it out yet, I'm having a blog sale!!  Please help save my closet from exploding.  :)

Those shoes definitely go well with your dress. OMG, they're super high. I can't never walk in those 6 inch heels =)

yeah, i hadn't walked in such tall shoes either for awhile so i had to kinda get used to them too! i put 2 different kinds of insoles and foot cushions in there and it made it manageable to walk in all day. :)

Those shoes look fantastic with that dress! I love my Dany heels - I actually can't believe how often I wear them considering that they're six inches tall, but they're surprisingly comfortable!

Great chunky heels. LOVE that purple bag :)

Wow, those are quite the shoes! Not sure if I could handle shoes like that myself.

Love the dress!

p.s. I guess that dress isn't really white-white...or does the "no white after Labor Day" rule not apply in Texas?

Kileen said... [Reply]

haha, i pretty much choose to always ignore the "no white after Labor Day" rule. :)

This is a super-cute look!  Like cute with extra sugar piled on for a sweet look.  The handbag offers the pop of color while those popular "Dany" platform sandals from Jessica Simpson (a Texas native) add a chic touch to this otherwise cute dress.  Awesome looks!

You seriously have the most awesome shoe collection!  I also think the bag goes perfectly with the outfit :)

I personally love the platforms with this dress. I think it works. I love contrasting styles paired together. I'm a sucker for it. But the colors work with the little bit of gray in your dress and it pulls out the silver of your jewelry... So it all looks great. Love the bag you're wearing with this combo. I can imagine this being a tricky dress to style just because the pattern is complex in the way that there's a lot going on already and you don't want to over do it, but I think you styled it perfectly. Love your turquoise jewelry!

:D Missed you yesterday!

Are those shoes crazy hard to walk in?  I've seen them on lots of blogs and they look great, but they're intimidating, haha!  Love the combination of them with the girly dress, unexpected but great combination!

The dress is so pretty and the shoes totally goes with it.

Kileen said... [Reply]

The shoes have a good chunk of platform so they're not as hard to walk in as they look. I did have to pad with insoles and foot cushions though to make them wearable for more than 5 min. :)

Just saw that you are a size 5 for shoes. I've been having the hardest time finding heels!!! I can wear a size 5 1/2, but I think I could down to a size 5, but I have no idea where to find a size below 6. I typically go to Nine West, but any suggestion would be awesome.
