Bracelets: Forever 21 Beaded Rope - $4.80 (buy), Forever 21 Leatherette Wrap - $7.80 (buy), Forever 21 Gold Chain (recent) - $4.80 (similar)

I love maxi dresses for the weekend -- they're so easy to wear yet still make it look like you put in some effort before walking out the door.  When I initially bought this dress, I had thought I'd always be wearing it with tall wedges and thus didn't need alterations.  Little did I realize that my taste would soon change to love seeing maxi dresses paired with flats {it's just more of a boho vibe, I think}.  And so I did end up lopping off a good 4" to this dress just so that I could wear my flat sandals.  I've never been more comfortable in a dress and it was awesome.

And did you see my attempt at an arm party?  I've been wanting some wrap bracelets for awhile now {my Gorjana order still hasn't arrived} but when I stopped in Forever 21 today I was thrilled to see a little tub filled to the brim with colorful bracelets fresh for the picking.  And so my trip to the mall to return things ultimately led me to buying more things...  hate it when that happens!  But I am happy to finally have some arm candy to show.  :)

mac sweetjoy, urban decay naked eyeshadow, mac blitz and glitz fluidline, maybelline one by one mascara, mac studio finish concealer nw25, fresh faces sheer neutral light mineral foundation, fresh faces first kiss mineral blush, mac strawbaby lipstick
Eyes: painterly paint pot, sweetjoy eyeshadow, UD naked eyeshadow (Naked Palette), blitz and glitz fluidline, maybelline one by one mascara
Face: studio finish concealer, fresh faces sheer neutral light foundation, fresh faces first kiss blush
Lips: strawbaby lipstick

As for my makeup, I went super minimal on the eyes and focused on the lips with a bright coral lipstick.  I've been really getting into lipsticks recently and actually picked up a few new shades today {can't wait to wear 'em for you soon too!}.  And I'm still so amazed at what I thought was a pretty dramatic winged eyeliner turns out to look like almost nothing in pictures.  Guess I gotta double up the drama!

Love this look on you, so different than usual! Although I've only recently discovered your blog, so maybe this is no new-to-you-look at all :-)

I feel the same way about maxi dresses - they're my weekend go to because they're so comfortable and chic at the same time.  I LOVE that dress you're wearing - it's so adorable.

Kileen! Love the beginnings of that arm party. I shamelessly want to wear many bracelets but can't find out how to make it work. I think that sounds silly now that I wrote it down but it's true! I think I think too hard about things sometimes!

LOVE your maxi dress! You look so fresh and ready to go. They are so comfy. I love throwing them on when I am thinking too much about what to wear. Simple easy breezy and beautiful!!

Love your necklace too!

The coral lip color looks great on you and I love the dress! The "arm party" thing is def something I've been loving, but I do feel like some stores charge waaaay too much for a little bit of thread, glad u found these at F21...I'll have to go take a look myself;)

What a lovely color pallette for your maxi dresses. I do that a lot too--run errands to return something only to come home with more things that I left with...such is life, i guess.

If anyone needs a picture definition of cute, people should read this blog post and see your pictures here.  This dress is beautiful, but it's the statement necklace that (for lack of a better term) makes the biggest statement in addition to this dress.  What a dazzling beauty you are, Kileen!

I so love every time you wear this maxi - the colors and print are just so pretty!  How do you like your MK watch?  Especially the weight of it?  I'm trying to gauge if all MK watches are similar in weight.

Kileen said... [Reply]

aww thank you!! i'm in love with the necklace too! :)

Kileen said... [Reply]

my MK watch is a little smaller than the normal MK watch -- 33mm instead of 38mm. It weighs in at 11.2 oz... not sure about how heavy the 38mm ones are.

aww thank you john!

Love all the colors, patterns, and textures from this outfit. If I were to imagine it in my head together, I'd think it may be too much, but you wear it so wonderfully. Great look, Kileen!

I've got to say I'm amazed by the seemingly endless array of colorful (and really bold) jewelry you've got.  It never seems to overwhelm you, though, I love it!

cute!  love the printed maxi on you.  I tend to wear flats with a lot of my maxis too. luckily I've been able to find a few that I haven't had to hem at all but otherwise I'd be like you and have to take off a huge chunk just so it would fit!

triskelos said... [Reply]

Love the dress! I also like to wear maxi dresses and skirts with flats and chunky jewelry))
