This outfit might look familiar to you guys.  I took some inspiration from Shana, the winner of this week's Color Brigade, when putting this outfit combination together.  I was enamored with her combination of green, blue, and orange.  The rich jewel tones also are ideal for transitioning into the fall season.  Although it won't actually start feeling like Fall until the end of October here in Texas, it doesn't hurt to start playing around!  At least I can satiate my appetite for fall hues, right?

On a different note, many of you have mentioned how awkward it can be to take pictures outside.  Well, I can definitely say that it's a form of self-marketing!  Today I was stopped for the fifth time by someone passing by who happened to like what I was wearing {funny enough, most people stop to ask me where I bought my shoes!}.  I always feel to proud when I can hand over one of my little business card for the blog {it makes me feel so legit}!  So, despite all the embarrassment and awkwardness, I can definitely say that taking pictures outside can give you some positive media attention as well.  That being said, for all you lovely ladies afraid to venture outdoors for photo shoots, be courageous and get out there!  Think of it as self-advertising.  You'd be surprised where it can land you.  :)

I am LOVING this outfit, Kileen! The colors are so rich! The belt is such a nice touch with a vibrant color that stands out at the blue background, with color blocking sandals. Delicious. pretty nail color too. ;)

thanks Vicky! have you tried your Essie Mint Candy Apple polish yet? :)

You always look so amazing! I was just talking earlier today about how much I adored Jewel Tones!!! I've never went outside for pics, I feel  downright silly. Maybe I'll have to give it a whirl.

Kileen said... [Reply]

you totally should! it does get easier once you do it a couple times. try just outside your house for starters. it's not as scary then. :)

Ahhhh love it!  I can't believe how all of the different colors look so well put together!  You are definitely one creative fashionista. :D

Do you take the photos yourself (tripod & remote) or do you have someone else taking your photos?  They always turn out so well!  I'm trying to encourage my husband to be my cameraman since our apartment is low lit, but he's absolutely horrid at taking photos!  Also, if you don't mind my asking, what camera/lens do you use?

Kileen said... [Reply]

thank you!! i take my own pictures on the weekdays when my husband leaves for work super early. the camera i use is the Canon Rebel XSi with the 50mm f1.8 lens. i also have a Canon RC-6 remote and a tripod that i borrowed from my parents. it takes a little getting used to to take self-portraits, but it's not bad once you figure it out. :)

I only tend to take photos outside (off my terrace that is) if it's somewhere in nature, where I am certain no one will see me, heh. I don't think I could find any street near here that isn't crawling with people during the time I take photos.

What a great viewpoint on self-advertising :) I may have to break out of my neighborhood shell and do just that! I adore the Mini Runway watch! I have been lusting after a rose gold watch and I love the petite size of the one you're wearing. Pretty outfit as well!!
