A Shoe Collection

IMG_9597.jpg

Kimmie requested on my Formspring to see a shoe collection awhile ago.  Today, I finally got around to rounding up all my shoes... all 72 pairs.  I think I have a problem.

I tried to do a little breakdown of the shoes in a listing below.  I included close estimates of what I paid for each shoe, so you can calculate how much my shoe collection is worth.  It's ridiculous.

And now, I need to figure out how to put these all back in my closet without it exploding.  If that's successful, I'll do an organization post {cross your fingers for me!}.

Wow, reminds me a bit of Imelda Marcos! ^_^ yeah, well we girls can never have enough shoes! So you go girl!

Also....I'm so curious, where do you store all those shoes?! Do you have a huge walk-in closet, or more than one closet? Because my closet could probably only hold 30 pairs of shoes, max.

That is amazing. I love you for this. I hope you have a big closet!

WOW.......you are a shoe person. I knew that already, but 72 pairs!?! Your husband feeds your addiction! He got you a lot of them! :D haha

OMG! you have only one pair of sneakers out of 72 ? =) Thanks for sharing, Kileen! Your shoe collection is pretty impressive

I'm gonna see about clearing out my collection a bit... Gonna try stretching out a few pairs that are too small and if that doesn't work, they're going up for sale!

Actually I have my Nike running shoes that I forgot to include in here. So 2 pairs of sneakers. :)

Oh I wish! It's a tiny closet I split with Adrian!

I use 2 closets to store my clothes and shoes. I keep stuff for the current season in my closet (that I share with the hubs) and out of season stuff in the guest bedroom closet.

Wow Kileen!! I LOVE this! I am a shoe addict myself so I very much enjoyed looking at this list. (and had to pin it!) I am very impressed with your collection!  I hope you post pics on how you store all these babies. I would love to get some ideas for my own closet.

OMG! As someone who loves to collect things, I am in awe! Great pairs you have here!!! I don't know how many pairs I own... but I wear some a whole lot more than others haha!

Kileen said... [Reply]

Unfortunately I have a tiny closet with almost nowhere to store my shoes. Even when it's organized my shoes are all stacked up on top of each other, lol!

Kileen said... [Reply]

Oh me too! Although I've been trying to mix in some older pairs now that I can "see" all of the ones I've neglected! :)

Ahh I think I've just died and gone to heaven Kileen. I would love to have a collection as big as yours! If only I had the money and space for all them haha :D I love how you only have 1 pair of sneakers like me lol

Wow, it must be a big effort to put them all together. :) YOu have a amazing collection. I like so many of them, the white poka dot of the third row is so cute and the color of Aldo red pump is so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

.... And I thought I had a lot of shoes! Mine are all sneakers and casual shoes, but I still don't come close to your collection. Love it!

I love your shoe collection! Amazing. I have taken over the entire wardrobe in my main bedroom and hubby has been delegated to the one in the guest bedroom. Unfortunately for me he NEVER lets me put anything in his wardrobe though! Even though mine is stuffed to capacity and his is roomy and spacious as he doesn't have that much stuff :-(

AWESOME collection!  I should show my husband, he will see I'm not the only one with a "problem" lol

Sorren Isler said... [Reply]

holy moly! i am superrrr jealous!

Kileen said... [Reply]

haha, my hubby is the same way. his side of the closet is 70% empty but i
can't "borrow" any of that space for my stuff! he says the space is there
for a purpose, lol. :)

Kileen said... [Reply]

haha, totally!

LOL I love this post- and its okay that you have a shoe problem!!! I think it's a great problem to have! LOL

Hey Kileen- do you use a 50mm lens? If so- I saw on twitter that you suggested 2.8f but most of my photos are still really blurry esp. when they are full body...any tips/suggestions? :)

Cee said... [Reply]

Oh my god, Kileen! How long did this take you?! I like how you organized by colors, styles, etc. I say, if there's room in the closet for more shoes, keep on buying! It's only when you run out of space, then there's a problem ;) Thank you for sharing!

Wowzers!  I would love to see how you store all those shoes!  Seeing all of your shoes inspired me to count mine; 89, I had no idea I had so many.  What can I say, I guess I have a problem too.

I would also check your focus mode (AF button). Make sure it's set to the 9-point focus. Then, when you're taking pictures, make sure there's nothing in front of you otherwise it'll focus on that and not you. Also, you have to stand kinda far away when you're taking the pics. HTH!

I love this! I definitely want to take a similar picture, but after I move. Not sure I could lay them all out now in my tiny apartment!

Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) said... [Reply]

Holy crap Kileen, that's awesome!! Even awesomer (I know, that's not a word :P) is that I just showed this post picture to my husband and he said "that doesn't look like that many" - so I guess I won't hear any complaints about space if it gets taken up by more shoes?  LOL!

Kileen said... [Reply]

Omg, what a great husband! haha. :)

Hi, I’m one of your followers but never left a message until now when I see all those wonderful shoes! Thanks for sharing about this. Now I don’t feel bad about being a shoe-hoarder anymore (I only have 1 pair of sneakers myself J).

wear the flats more!!

Cher said... [Reply]

Whoa, Kileen! LOL. Though, if I didn't have such a problem wearing pumps (I have really narrow heels, so I walk out of almost everything), it's quite possible I would have that many too!

Kileen said... [Reply]

the organization is definitely going to be the hard part. i still haven't
put them all back in the closet yet. we'll see how it goes. :)

Tanya Ann said... [Reply]

LOVE it!!!

Ash P said... [Reply]

I'd love to know how you organize them once you put them away. The most promising thing I found was a shoe rack for 50 pairs at crate and barrel.

Kileen said... [Reply]

my organization is really lacking and i wish i had even had space for the
shoe rack in my tiny closet (it can't even fit 2 people in there). thanks
for the suggestion though, lol.

Awesome shoe collection!! Can I ask you what you think of the flats that you bought in Taiwan Shilin market? Are they comfortable? I am thinking of making a shopping trip to Taiwan as I've heard that the flats at the markets are awesome...I haven't been able to find a comfortable pair for the life of me...
