Flower pins are all the rage now. I’ve worn them a few times now pinned to the top of my blouse but I thought I’d try something a little different today and pin it to my belt. Hopefully that’ll draw some attention away from my chest as I feel like this cowl neck top already does too good of a job at that. And since I threw in a red belt for this look, you knew I had to add on some little red shoes. (You guys all know about my little color trick by now.)
Do you like my new shoes? These shoes were actually bought to replace my coral Forever 21 shoes that have the exact same shape but are supremely cheap and uncomfortable. While the little coral Forever 21 shoes may look cute, they are on their last leg. The cardboard inside is starting to fall apart already. Unfortunately I will have to admit that I probably won’t be buying Forever 21 shoes anymore in the future as they just do not seem to last longer than a few months of wear and are quite lacking in comfort. These BP shoes, on the other hand, are completely different. One look at them and you can tell that the suede is high quality, the sole has sufficient cushion, and the interior isn’t made of cardboard. And the best part is, I was able to get them in my size and on sale! WINNING. 🙂
On a more serious note, I know quite a few bloggers out there who are taking part in a Bloggers Day of Silence. And while I am anything but quiet, I do want to speak up for awareness. I encourage everyone to help support relief efforts over there and donate what you can to the Red Cross. Living Social is even matching every $5 donation. My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by these recent events. I’m closing out with a few pictures of my trip to Japan 2 years ago. I miss you, Japan.

Those are absolutely gorgeous photos, Kileen. Thanks for sharing.

Aww.. they didn't have the red shoes in my size 🙂 Glad you picked them up for a great price! Btw, I couldn't find any posts of you wearing the Intyce boots. 🙁 Do you have a link?

Here's a link to the Intyce boots on me:

And the red B Gabby shoes sold out so quickly! i think these Type Z ones
look kinda similar: http://www.zappos.com/type-z-darla-blue-pat-pu

Blue and mustard is one of my favorite color combinations! That flower pin looks great on the belt. Thank you for sharing your photos and memories.

I like the low ramp on those shoes, so sexy especially the color. Man, I thought that belt came like that! I have a flower belt from LOFT and it would have totally been cheaper (and more creative and versatile) if I just stock a pin on a belt.
My heart goes out to Japan and all the pain and suffering. It is so saddening that their troubles are still not over. When is blogger silence day? Love the photos of your trip to Japan, such a pretty place.
Kileen says
Blogger Day of Silence was actually today, 3/18/2011. I decided not to be
silent but to speak up instead. I guess it's awareness either way. 🙂
Cee says
Flower pins are certainly all the rage right now. I think you've started a trend, Kileen 😉 When I stopped by LOFT today, I swear there was a pin on every mannequin, sweaters, jackets, belts, you name it, every outfit had one.
Thank you for sharing your Japan pictures. You look the same, but yet different… I can't pinpoint it. Maybe your hair?
Sherry at Girls Day Out says
I love those shoes.. red pumps are on my "NEED TO HAVE" list. You look adorable – as usual. Cheers! xoxo

I really love the pin on your belt, such a great idea. Thanks for the including the photos of Japan, they are so pretty.

tennis shoes for the entire trip cause we spent all day walking. that's
probably why i look so different. 🙂

how do you tuck in your clothes? totally seems like a weird question, but I can never get it right, esp in the back!
btw, thanks for mentioning that the F21 shoes hurt your feet too! Because when I tried on those cute kitten heel pumps at F21, I was thinking "how did Kileen walk in these!?!"
Just Better Together
Kileen says
hm, with tops that i wear with pencil skirts, i usually have to pull the
shirt down from under the skirt just so that there's no bunching at the
top. and i do tend to push extra fabric to the back of my outfits so that
it kinda comes together right at the small of my back. it's not perfect,
but i think it works better than just having baggy clothes, lol.
and yeah, i've gotten over Forever 21 shoes. not worth it!

Snow White again! Love the color combination. And I've also noticed that Forever 21 shoes are pretty bad quality. I have a few pairs of boots/ booties from there and the outside layer always starts to come off after a few wears. I have no idea why i haven't learned my lesson yet!

That skirt is so pretty on you…I absolutley love the color of it, and that it goes so unexpectedly with so many things!

The photos are so beautiful. Why didn't I think of posting my pictures when I was in Japan? hehe It's a beautiful country with great discipline amongst its people. If anyone will get through this, it's them. But they need all the help they can get. 🙂
Wasn't the Forever 21 shoes a fairly recent purchase? It's really no good, huh? Too bad. They looked cute.

Oh my god…you look so cute and adorable in your pictures from your trip in Japan! I honestly adore your flawless skin 😀 as I am having horrible acne all over my face..like pepperoni pizza! Love your outfit and I like the idea you tag the prices on. It is very thoughtful of you for doing that so readers know how much the value of clothes you wearing. I like your taste and your style and your style helped to mix and match and sometimes i purchased the outfit you had coz the price is reasonable.

I adore your photos of Japan- how beautiful! Thank you for sharing them with us. I've gotten a few pairs of cheapies from F21 and they have fallen apart quickly, except for my green bow flats… they're holding up! Thank goodness, because I can't live without them! LOVE the flower on the belt, too!
Kileen says
oh i'm glad the green bow flats are holding up. F21 shoes are pretty cute,
i just wish they were better quality!
Lindsay Bobindsay says
Super cute outfit– I like the idea of a pin on a belt! Also, kudos to you for not buying F21 shoes. I find a lot of their accesories in particular fall apart quickly, and I can never seem to guess what will hold up. A high cost for a low price. Your pictures of Japan are so pretty… I have always wanted to go but this crisis makes me want to visit and help boost their economy!
