I've been on a roll getting inspired from my fellow Color Brigadiers! Vicky submitted an outfit for Color Brigade Vol 7 that incorporated gold, grey, and red. Once I saw it, I knew that I had to try these colors together for myself!
A few people have mentioned that it's difficult for them to incorporate so much color into their outfits without looking ridiculous. So let me share my little secret: start small. One of my favorite ways to add in color is by throwing on a colorful belt. Even if the rest of the outfit is full of neutrals, a bright belt can really add some dimension to the look. And for me, I even will "kick it up a notch" and try to match one other accessory item to the belt -- shoes, earrings, bracelet, flower pin, headband... you get it right? I find that it really helps tie the whole outfit together and it's an easy way to add in color without looking like a clown. :)

You look amazing and love your outfit =)
thanks for the tip!
I really like this outfit, Kileen. It's something I can see myself wearing. Your hair looks beautiful and health :)
This is perfect Kileen! I am usually more of a neutral girl but every once in a while I will put together an outfit fit for the color brigade, but this, this I think I could do more often!
i reeeallly need to invest in some colorful belts. i have plenty of color in my closet but all of my belts are lame! brown, beige, tan, cream, and some black.
Great suggestions for adding colour without it being crazy... I'm going to try and come up with something colourful this week and link it :)
So gorgeous! One of my faves.
I love this look with your hair down. You look so pretty.
I love the skirt in your outfit and the pop of red! I can't believe the skirt if from Forever21. It looks so expensive.
Complex Cardigans
Those red heels are super hot and that matching belt. I really love it!!
I like your Tip! I agree, that's a great way to start! Another winner of an outfit!! :)

you look great!
so everyday i'm like, "okay that's my new favorite outfit on her!!" and then everyday is better than the last. you're really getting good!! love all your different looks.
This is a good tip that I will have to try. I have a red belt and shoes, but they aren't exactly the same shade. haha
Good advice! Some days I even like to go super matchy-matchy to overdo the point. :)
I don't even really care which colors "match" anymore. Somewhere, some time, there'll be no rules as to which colors go together. I look at NY Fashion Week and there are so many bright and beautiful colors that aren't usually strewn together... and they are beautiful!
Those shoes, those shoes! I think every girl needs at least one pair of red heels- they're instant confidence boosters. You look so cute :)
I totally agree. all color rules are out of the window this season. and i
love it!! :D
This look is beyond gorgeous! And so are you!
I absolutely adore a great red heel, and the belt really does kick it up a notch :)
AWESOME outfit! The color combinations are so lovely. You look amazing! I love the skirt and shoes!
Great tip about the belt. : ) And they're always so fun & cheap at F21 and H&M!! I love how you matched the shoes & belt, but the tiered skirt and quilted purse don't look good together (imo) because they're different textures. Maybe it's just to my eyes though :p
Oh that's true about the different textures! I agree. Maybe go back to the LV in this case. :)
sometimes I can't comment you because the comment box doesn't load :(
Anyways, I really do like your skirt!

this is perfect! i love the subtle pop of colour - i really learned something about not taking colour over the top for a more professional look thanks!
great outfit. love the hair. :) up for your color brigade! :) yaay! :)
I love the black soles on your red shoes! Such an unusual combo!
That's a fantastic tip Kileen... I actually have been trying to look for more colourful belts these days!
And do I ever have a Colour Bridage entry for you for the next volume, can't wait!

i'm always scared of wearing color because i don't want to end up looking like a 'clown' hahah.. and i thought some red pumps would really help ease me out of my comfort zone a bit.. i love how the red really brightens your entire outfit!

You do colors so good! Little tutorial sounds logic, love the way red shoes give life to this one, wearing nude pumps would've looked ok, but you made this look so fab!

I really love that skirt!!...........I've got to remember to add belts to my skirts like you do, they add so much visual interest ;)
I like the whole outfit! You're very pretty in it! I have a skinny red belt that I'd like to wear for a long time... now I know how to incorporate that red belt in other clothes that I may have! Thanks! :)
Love the pops of red here...you look beautiful!
Very cute outfit, and nice tip! I agree with you that adding bright accessories to a neutral outfit is a great way to add color. I love pairing my hot pink pumps with a black top and jeans!

Thank you!
Oh yes, hot pink and black is one of my fave color combos!
You never, ever look like a clown, it's obvious that you know what you're doing! :) I love the tip of just adding a colorful belt and/or shoes. I do that a lot too!
You look incredible and I adore that skirt with the tiers!

I really love what you did with your eyes!! did you do something different with your make up ??? I love it!!!
anyway I completely agree, start small, I collect belts and shoes, so usually I try to incorporate color on those items, but now since I gradually sell my old clothes and gain new ones, I tried to incorporate color in the new stuff that come in...
I really love the simple outfit but loving the ruffle tiered skirt!!

Cute outfit! I love the red!
I used to be petrified of wearing color and as of recently something must have switched off in my brain because I've been buying really colorful and vibrant stuff without even realizing it. I initally started the way you said by adding one or two accessories (mine were hot pink heels) and now I'm adding vibrant color to near everything I wear. Makes outfits way more interesting!

i agree. hot pint heels sound amazing!! you'll have to link them up to my
weekly Color Brigade feature (every Tuesday)!
Awesome! I'll do that. In the meantime I went head and linked up a post I did last week featuring my new neon pink blazer to your Color Brigade feature from this past week. :-)
