Taste The Rainbow

Cardi:  White Cropped Cardigan (bought from CA sidewalk sale) (similar)
Shirt:  J. Crew Embellished Tank via Buffalo Exchange - XS (similar)
Belt:  H&M Brown Belt (borrowed from cardigan) - XS (similar)
Skirt:  J. Crew Double Serge Pencil Skirt in Bright Dahlia - 00P (buy - on sale now!)
Shoes:  Steve Madden Elevaate Pumps - 5.5 (my review) (buy) (similar)
Purse:  Louis Vuitton Ellipse (gifted from parents)

When I put this outfit on, I half thought that maybe I should save it for Color Brigade Tuesday.  I mean, isn't this outfit bright?  But, by that point, I was already halfway dressed and figured there's no better way to close out a long work-week than with a healthy dose of color.  I kinda felt like I was wearing skittles all day long.  And if that doesn't make you happy (or make you think of dancing in skittle rain), then I don't think we can be friends.

Just kidding.  :)

Hope you guys have a skittle-y good weekend!

I love the look. You can totally pull off the skittles look. :) I have a question, do you get allot of things altered??? I tried that same skirt on at jcrew but it was really long and me. I thought if I got it I'd have to alter it and bring the hem up. Your skirt looks the perfect length. Have a great weekend!

@Rachel i wasn't able to find size 00 Petite in the store so I ordered it online. surprisingly enough, the 00P fits me perfectly right off the rack with no alterations. usually i do have to get quite a few things altered in order to have them fit, but i kinda lucked out with this one. :)

haha, skittles! I really love these too colors together! I haven't been the biggest fan on this color in that skirt as I've seen in a few times on other bloggers, but I honestly really like it in this outfit!

Awww, yes your outfit does remind me of the rainbow! I'm really loving that pencil skirt you have on. How do you manage to have that belt stay on? I find that it is hard for me throughout the day to have the belt stay on with higher waisted skirts. For example, whenever I sit down and stand back up the belt just rides up. =0( Am I belting it too tight or loose?

I love the colour pop of this outfit very much. I find it so hard to match bold colours together that I end up just shying away for fear of getting it wrong but your brave take is inspiring :)

I am so behind on visiting blogs, and I missed the Color Brigade this week. I'm slowly updating my blog and need to add your button back. These are my college colors! Do I spy a ring? Has it always been there and I'm just slow?

Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my face...that skirt is so freaking gorgeous- I WANT! LOL

You look amazing in it Kileen!!!

@Banhannas Hi Hanna,

Honestly this is a super tough one and something that I struggle with too. With some skirts, I find that they have a seam at the top that's just an inch or so below the top hem. If I tie my belt so that it sits right on that seam, it seems to stay in place better. With skirts that don't have that seam, I just try and place belts about an inch below the hem where that seam would go. I think because of the lower placement of the belt, it seems to ride up less. I do still have to adjust the belt though if I go from seated to standing a lot....

Hope that helps!
Kileen :)
