Skiing Weather

Hooray for finally making it out of the house!!  I have to admit, two days of staying at home did make me slightly stir crazy.  And when you add on the fact that today they were serving free* Mexican food for lunch today at work, I knew I had to find a way out of the house.  I tried my best to bundle up a bit more today, so I layered up.  I actually have on a layer of thermals under this outfit that I previously have only worn on skiing trips.  But in my defense, our high today was only 23 degrees F and currently colder than the skiing town of Colorado Springs (yes, I checked!).  I felt a bit bulky, but it was definitely warm.  Thank goodness it's warming up this weekend, otherwise you guys would probably be seeing the rest of my skiing clothes make an appearance.  Trust me, it's not stylish.

* My work provides free food everyday.  It was awesome at first, until I realized I had to end up buying a gym membership to work it off.  :)

I have a similar jacket from GAP, but in a camel-ish color. I can't believe this weather we've been getting in Dallas! I think it's supposed to last a couple more days.

Firstly, i love you outfit, you have amazing fashion sense!!
Also, it`s good to hear that you got a chance to leave your place after two days. Hopefully, you got lots of things done during your little break.
Mmmmm.... Mexican food sounds yummy! Also, I love the way your are so prepared for the weather by wearing thermals (It`s always better to be prepared than be sorry later) And hope you have a safe and great Friday!

I just can't get over how cute that jacket is... i'm not a BIG fan of courderoy, but the fur trim adds such a fun twist to it!

Our high was around 25 degrees too, so I can definitely understand the layering. However, you still look super cute! I love that sweater and jacket!

I love the color of your jacket! You never fail to add some bright color even during a cold day!

Love those boots! So stylish for the snow. And I'm infinitely jealous of your free food. Is your work hiring? :p

I just love how you rock stylish shoes and boots everyday! I imagine you wear a lot of boots when it's snowing in TX :) And you always look fresh and not depressed by the weather!! :)

@Rainy Days and Lattes haha, i try. dressing up always makes my day a bit brighter. :)

I had to layer up today too! I seriously wore two pairs of knit leggings under a pair of legging-like sweatpants. It sounds more ridiculous than it looked (hopefully). It made me realize that layering is still somewhat of a challenge for me! I'm not used to having to bundle up!

Simply love your boots! I actually have something similar and they are so comfortable to walk in. And your jacket is so cute. Glad to hear that you were able to leave your house after two days, I hate being inside all the time.

You still look great all bundled up. I hope the Mexican food was good. My work provides free food sometimes, and while good it can be very unhealthy.

I love seeing everyone's red pieces today! I would love to participate, but don't have any red in my closet! I may need to fix that after the 30 for 30.

I also love those gorgeous boots! Work it, girl!

Kileen it looks so cold there (i can empathize). can't believe you are still doing outfit pics outdoors! Your button nose is all red! I do like the outfit though, wish I had a jacket like that. :)

Tara said... [Reply]

Is that jacket lined with the "fur" all the way through? It looks really warm and soft on the inside if so!! I totally feel you with the cold, the coldest its been here so far has been -1 degrees last week...it sucks so bad!

Sophie said... [Reply]

i wish i had that amazing jacket, it looks so warm!

Cute!! That jacket is great!!

It is tough dressing for cold weather in a usually warm climate. I have been trying to get more winter clothes this season, so I do not feel so blah when it gets super cold.

Cee said... [Reply]

The boots are so hot. I love all the criss-crossing action going on. Stay warm Kileen! I'm getting cold looking at all the snow.

kileen said... [Reply]

@Tara the jacket is lined with the faux fur all the way inside and makes it super warm. i love it! :)

Linley said... [Reply]

love the color of your pants, kileen! they are fabulous (and i bet pretty versatile!)

hurricanekerrie said... [Reply]

I feel warm and toasty just looking at you! I have a jacket in that similar style but brown... now, if only I could find it... Keep warm!

you are such a cute snow bunny. Shoot I will find a reason to get out the door for free Mexican food. Heck, for any free food. Your look is awesome. I love your sense of style.

Ashley said... [Reply]

Free food, everyday? YES please. :)

I don't think you look bulky at all...totally bundled and weather-appropriately cute!

That little shearling coat is adorable!
