A Silver Lining

J. Brand 10" Skinny Jeans - 23 (purchased off HauteLook) (buy)
Gold Necklace (gifted from Adrian for V-Day) (reviewed here)

Oh goodness, doesn't that last picture look like some sort of corporate headshot?  I think this shirt needs another run through the wash as it's a little too stiff for your everyday chambray shirt.  It needs some serious wrinkles in it or something.  Maybe I should just wad it up into a little ball and sit on it.  (J/k.  Would that even work?)  Suggestions?

As for my outfit today, I love these J. Brand jeans dearly but I think maybe it wasn't the best choice for this outfit today -- a little too low-rise and a little too much scrunching at the ankles.  On the bright side though, I did get lots of compliments on the (brand-new!) shoes.  Turns out, people really love the shiny silver soles.  Christian Louboutin, you might need to step aside.  (at least for today)  :)

You have the BEST shoes! I need to learn how you shop shoes, I'm so clueless when it comes to them. If you want to add more wrinkles in your shirt, I suggest dampening it with water and tie it into a ball. =0P

No the chambray looks amazing on you! I like this masculine-esque look, actually. We see you in skirts almost everyday it's great seeing a shirt tucked into your jeans. I actually did a similar look for one of my past PFCs. :D The J Brand looks great on you! I need to get myself a pair!

You look super cute, and yes it does look like a head shot, but not a stuffy one, a beautiful one! I think the jeans look great on you, the perfect amount of scrunching at the bottom. J brand is so flattering!

I love the simple chic look of this outfit. Great shoes by the way. I sure hope you weren't running all over the office in them. I prefer to wear heels while sitting at my desk.

@Rachel nope, i have a sitting desk job so it's pretty easy on my feet. these shoes are pretty comfy, but we'll see how they hold up when i run errands in them this weekend!

I adore this outfit! You look so casual chic, but office appropriate too. Those shoes are KILLING me! I want some! And that belt. Can I have the belt, too? :)

kileen said... [Reply]

@Melissa haha, i guess i should've bought extras of the belt! there were so many of them when i went to Forever 21 but they ended up selling out in < 2 days! it was only $2.80. a steal right?! :)

How is it that you can take such a classic look and still make it look absolutely YOURS?

And yes those heels are beautiful. I am jealous of your fiancee with good taste. If I date my bf for 6 years, will he know what shoes to buy me too?

My Heart Blogged said... [Reply]

I like it, it's simple, but chic. The belt adds a little fun to it.

@Thoa haha, my bf has seen all the crazy shoes that i buy for the past 6 years, so he has a good idea of my taste now. we actually were shopping about 2 weeks ago at the mall (for wedding rings) and walked into bebe. he asked me if i liked these shoes then and had me try them on. of course i loved them the instant i put them on but was sad at how expensive they were. i guess he knew what he wanted to get me for v-day at that point! :)
