Oldies But Goodies and Parentheses

I was feeling a little uninspired in the outfit department this morning, so I ended up pairing up two pieces that have seen the light of day in months (actually this sweater hasn't been worn in over a year)!  This sweater used to be one of my favorites as it's super soft, has cute little buttons on the shoulders and sleeves, and i'm a sucker for breton stripes.  Of course, this was also back in the day when I wore a shirt/sweater and jeans to work everyday.  And I also probably ended up wearing the same pair of jeans three days out of the week (shhh!).  But since then I've actually changed jobs, moved cities, and started working somewhere where you can get dressed up and not get funny looks (yes!).  And now you're lucky enough to see me document my outfits everyday.  Aren't you guys lucky?  :)

And somehow this post ended up with lots of parentheses.  I hope you guys don't mind me muttering behind my own back while I post.   (Maybe I'm getting old.  Isn't this what old people do?)

I have a similar skirt that I have never worn. I really haven't been able to come up with something that looked cute with it. You look adorable, maybe I'll do something similar with my skirt! I love your necklace too :)

Lately I've been making myself wear items I haven't touched for awhile. It's weird how you can wear something so much, and then just stop.

I noticed on your google profile you listed the xx as a favorite band. If you ever get the chance to see them don't miss out. I saw them a year or so ago and they were one of the only bands I have ever seen that sound better live than on cd. fucking awesome.

and back on topic.... I love the maroon with the royal blue. fantastic remix.

That shade of blue looks really nice on you Kileen! I love your pumps btw - are they comfortable though? I was actually thinking of getting the Caryssa pumps in a nude color :)

Your necklace is so cool. I like that it adds visual interest to the ensemble. And I don't mind all the parentheses... I like them, too! (And exclamation points and ellipses. That's how I roll.)

Have a good weekend!

Haha! I always find myself using parentheses in my posts. Somehow it just happens. I hope it's not from getting old. I'd like to think I'm still very young... Anyway, this outfit looks great on you! It reminds me that I really need to invest in pretty tights once the 30 for 30 is over. If I'll need any at that time. If not, I'll just buy them because I'll be so excited to purchase something fashion-related! :)

@Jenni Wells oh I've heard sooo many great things about the XX in concert. it's definitely on my to-do list! :)

@Rinny i looove the Caryssa pumps and they're about a 6/10 as far as comfort goes. i actually went shopping in them the other day and was able to make it 2 hours. but i would say 2 hours is the max i would spend walking in these shoes as my feet did start to hurt after that.

and the nude color is so pretty!! i would recommend them. :)

I love parentheses. I think they're necessary.

And I love this outfit! That top is fantastic on you and so great with a skirt!
