The Moneymaker

LOFT Abstract Floral Print Pencil Skirt - 00P (buy - 30% off with FEBAFF30)
Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 (gifted from parents) (similar)

I'll admit I've been stalking this skirt on the LOFT website for awhile now.  The regular size version has been available for awhile, but it was only recently that the petite version came online.  I first saw it on Tara and knew I had to have it.  Doesn't it just scream spring to you?  The colors are absolutely gorgeous.  If I had a dime for every time someone complimented me on the skirt today, I would have 40 cents!  This skirt is a moneymaker, I tell ya!  :)

On the downside, I think the fit of the skirt leaves much to be desired.  The hips fit decently but it doesn't seem to taper at all as it goes up to the waist.  In fact, there was such a huge gap it kinda looked like I was pregnant (or had a fupa) from the side.  Oh the disappointment!  Unfortunately, straight off the racks I cannot recommend this skirt for petites unless you're ok with alterations.  I'm planning to take it to my tailor (aka mom) this weekend and see if she can save it from being returned.

Meanwhile, how awesome is it that at 6pm it's still light out?!  I cannot wait for daylight savings time to come around!

You bought that skirt??? OMG, it's on my list of things to get for Spring. I love it when I first saw it on Tara. It looks amazing on you. I have to try it in store and see how it fits on me.

I love love those booties! I was admiring the skirt and then my eyes hit the booties and they just zoned in! Love it.

Oh dear, at 6pm it is pitch black dark over where I live. I saw that skirt before! I'm also guilty about stalking LOFT's website ... there is this light blue scuba skirt that I LOOVE but no petite sizing! I don't see your fupa but you cleverly remedied it with a belt. My mom has been altering my clothes ever since I was young so definitely nice and cheaper to take it there. =0D

It looks fine from my vantage point--like, in front of the computer screen pov. :) I think it's a great skirt, it'd be a shame if it had to be returned... Love the silvery cardigan, too.

that is a great skirt for spring!
Yes, I'm enjoying having more light in the early evenings. And aren't you loving the weather we've had the last couple days?!

I've never seen or heard that term before (fupa). Where do people come up with this stuff?

Oh, I love Ann Taylor but sometimes the fit of their clothes leaves a lot to be desired.

I LOVE that it's still light out at 6PM, because that's what time I leave work and I'm always the last one to leave. It's not fun when it's pitch black outside and I leave alone.

That skirt is beautiful! I love it with the denim jacket and booties. You look fabulous!

So sad that the skirt didn't fit well, because it is adorable
Hope your mom can salvage it
BTW... my friend calls that front area her front butt. LOL
I can't imagine you having a front butt at all!!!!

Cute! Can't go wrong with a denim jacket, if you ask me. I definitely need to get a few more before spring rolls around...they're so versatile!

I don't see a fupa at all, but I hate when things don't fit right. I don't seem to have that problem too much (basically because there's no real difference in the width of my hips and tummy), but I always have a problem with length and inseams (I'm sure you know all about that too!). Thank God for a good tailor!

hahaha i laughed out loud when i clicked "fupa." hilarious kileen!

Thanks for telling us about the fit of this skirt. Well that's awfully disappointing. but us petites are well aware of the issues we face w/LOFT skirts, so speaking for myself, I am not surprised.

@banhannas: I know exactly which skirt you're talking about. no petite sz =( downer.

HAHA, I swear urban dictionary never fails to educate me.

I loved this skirt on Tara and I'm loving it on you, Kileen. I'm surprised at the length though. I thought it'd be a bit longer. I think I may have to hunt down this skirt in a regular size. Crossing my fingers for a sale soon?

I'm a huge fan of that skirt, and the waist sounds like it will be a pretty easy fix.

Aww too bad the fit on the skirt is off! The print is gorgeous and I couldn't tell from the pics that it didn't fit well. There's nothing like a great floral skirt to rein in spring :)

How funny because I thought that the skirt looked like it fit really nicely until I kept reading. Hopefully your mom will be able to fix the waist:)
