J. Crew Skirt, Giveaway Winner, and Emyloo Shoes!

J. Crew Double Serge Pencil Skirt in Bright Dahlia - 00P (buy)
The Limited Flower Belt - S (holes punched) (similar)
Forever 21 Braided Silver Pumps - 6 (heel and forefoot inserts added) (similar)
hair bun created using Goody Spin Pins (tutorial)

Warning:  This post is going to be an odd hodge-podge of miscellaneous topics.  I have too much going on with this little blog and just decided to throw it all into one post.  :)

Topic 1:  My Bright Dahlia J. Crew skirt finally came in!!  After having been backordered for over a month and delayed another two weeks with adverse weather conditions, I was so happy to finally see my little J. Crew package in the mail.  The color is even more beautiful in person than it is on the website.  As far as the fit, this one actually exactly consistent with my previous Nightfall Blue one (thank goodness!).

[UPDATE]:  The skirt just went on sale at J.Crew!!  Originally $118, they're now down to $98 for petite and $79.99 for regular sizes!  (Thank you Elle for letting me know!)  And don't forget to use Ebates for an additional 1% back (my referral link if you need it).

Topic 2:  The winner of the CSN Stores $20 gift certificate giveaway is Betherboo!  The winner has already been contacted via email.  Thank you everyone for entering!

Topic 3:  Are there any petites out there with small feet?  If you're like me, you're always scoping out the smallest sizes at shoe stores and still padding your shoes with heel and forefoot inserts (see my shoes for my outfit today!).  Well, you can give those inserts a rest and check out Emyloo Shoes!  This site specializes in petite footwear by carrying sizes 2-5.5.  They even do custom fit shoes to fit your feet!
Emyloo Shoes
Emily Krause, the founder of Emyloo Shoes, contacted me regarding the launch of her site.  For a bit of background on Emily, she stands at 4'11" and wears a size 3.5 shoe.  This lady definitely understands how hard it is to find shoes that fit!  As far as customizations go, common requests include adjusting heel height higher/lower or sizing boots to fit perfectly around your calf (to avoid the "galosh look" when you don't want it!).

For my readers, Emily has also graciously provided a code for $10 off the entire site:  10FOR211   (expires 3/1/2011).  Check out the site now

And coincidentally enough, Kelly also mentioned Emyloo in her post today!

I can't believe you pulled off purple, pink and blue and so chic-ly. I love your "hodge-podge" post because my brain is all over the place so the numbers helped organize me a little.
Cheers,

I still can't get over how amazingly that skirt fits you. I would pick it up in all the pretty colors. So sad!

kileen said... [Reply]

@PetiteAsianGirl if only these skirts weren't so pricey, then i totally would! i already went kinda overboard with 2. :\

OMG...you know what I am going to say right? I love that pink skirt! The color is gorgeous on you!!! You look great in shades of pinks/reds!!!! How is it that it fits you w/no alterations? That is amazing!

kileen said... [Reply]

@Really Petite well, the waist is pretty roomy and the skirt sits a good 2" below my natural waistline if i don't add a belt. i think with a belt i can make it so that it's only about 1" below my natural waistline. fortunately the length still hits nicely above my knees so i'm pretty happy with it. oh, and wearing tights also seem to really help as the lining kinda clings to it and helps the skirt stay up. :)

You took a risk with this outfit! I love how your accessories like the necklace and heels tie everything down.

I love that skirt and the belt! And especially your shoes, they are amazing! I also have small feet so I know what it is like to walk around looking for the perfect shoes and then they don't have your size.

kileen said... [Reply]

@AubreyOhDang! yeah, i'm not sure either... the waist is loose and it sits at least 2" below my natural waist, but with a belt it seems to work...

Mindy said... [Reply]

this outfit looks like it is part of the color brigade! I like the mix of colors! Really like your necklace too!

kileen said... [Reply]

@Mindy lol, it does, doesn't it? :) this skirt is perfect for the color brigade!

Although I'm only 5'1, somehow I ended up with giant size 8 feet! (Which is a normal size and makes it easy to find shoes, but the are huge compared everyone else I know who is my height.) I'm glad to have them, though, because it is so easy to find shoes!

SIENA.STYLE said... [Reply]

you look taller!!:)I like this look!

I absolutely adore your color combo Here
I would have never put the blue tights with the pink and purple but it is killer!
Note to self to be on the look out for those color tights!
