Wow, what a busy weekend. The DFW Blogger Meetup was a huge success!! Fifteen amazing gals came out, and we all bonded over an afternoon brunch followed by makeup makeovers courtesy of Dior and Allure magazine. I don't want to give too much away now as there will be a separate (huge) post showing everything with pictures galore. Please stay tuned as that post will be going up soon. :)
As for my outfit today, I spiced up what would have been almost a schoolgirl type of outfit with my argyle sweater and tweed skirt with some sky-high heels and ankle socks. The ankle socks were originally going to be knee-high socks, but somehow the look just didn't quite look right when I put it on. And instead of forgoing the knee-high socks altogether, I decided to take a cue from Ramsey and try out an ankle sock look. I'm not quite sure if this worked out... Did it make my short legs even shorter?
Either way though, I definitely enjoyed the extra 6" (5.8" if you're being technical) provided by these awesome shoes. I went grocery shopping and for once I was able to reach the top shelf. Booyah.
P.S.
- You can thank the ridiculous hair to the nutso wind. Holy moly I thought I was gonna get blown over while teetering in these heels!

Can't wait to see the post on the meetup! I live vicariously through you petite bloggers. You are brave to wear such high heels, but I love how you paired them with socks!
wowza! Those are some serious heels lady! The ankle socks look good, no foreshortening effects :)
Wish I still lived in Dallas, yalls meet up sounds like it was fun. Looking forward to the post.

omg at those heels! I like the ankle socks look, but I think it might work better with shoes with no T strap. You still rocked it though!
super cute! i'm so jealous of your dany's - i've been wanting a pair in tan or black but they're sold out x_x thank goodness for size 5's though
I don't know what I like better.?
your sweater? you LV or your shoes..
Ah.. everything

Hmm... well, I love the danys, and think they'd be awesome on their own without socks. Maybe I'm just not into the ankle sock and sandals trend yet. ;)
Can't wait to see the meetup photos!
Now those are some shoes. Holy smokes. I don't know how you do it. They are really cute though.

hot hot hot!!!!
The sweater is gorgeous:)
OMG girl, your shoe collection never ceases to amaze me! How awesome that you went grocery shopping in them...I could never do that in heels like those!
Those are some sexy shoes! I'm curious, do you wear any gel insoles with any of your heels? I can barely stagger in my high heels and you look like you were born into yours. =0D
Hi Kileen!!! It was so great to meet you and thanks for putting the meet up together...I have those shoes too....I'm waiting for a little warmer weather to wear them...

OMG..Those shoes are hot! I can’t never wear those type of heels but you rock them girl! I am glad that you had a great time meeting up with other bloggers. I am looking forward to see the pictures. Have a great week.
@Banhannas I usually don't wear insoles as it makes my foot not fit inside my shoes as well (my heel slides out even more!). i will usually do forefoot inserts as those help cushion the shoes a bit more but don't affect how the heel fits in the shoe.
I actually am considering buying some Insolia insoles (Tracey of http://ilovemochi.blogspot.com actually recently told me about them). they look really promising online and there's a 20% discount through the end of Feb with the code HEART. :)
That is a LOT of height! I am slowly working my way back to integrating my heels into my wardrobe. I used to wear them everywhere (and like you, appreciated the independence it garnered me in the grocer's) but being back in school, there are no sensible reasons for me to wear them. It might take me a while to get to walk comfortably with that much heel though:)
I love how you belted that sweater! It breaks up the pattern just a bit and makes the whole look more pulled together.
Those shoes are fabulous... and jeez they are incredibly tall!

Regarding the post title: That's what she said! (I watch too much The Office, lol)
About the socks, I think it's perfect that you paired the "ankle sock look" with those heels with extra height, that way you countered the "shortening" effect. Can't wait to see your next post today!
Lidi @ Eclectic Flair
@Eclectic Flair haha, I love The Office! oh michael scott... :)
wowwww girl!! your shoes are hot!! i haven't tried the socks under heels look yet, gotta try it sometime!!
I love the schoolgirl vibe! As far as the ankle socks go, I think as long as you have slender legs (which you do), you can pull it off - the heel help too!
Glad to hear the meet-up went well and looking forward to the post about it!
I've never tried the socks and heels/sandals combo before. I don't think I could brave it. ;)
Wow those are some heels!! Can you walk in them? I would fall flat on my face. I used to be able to pull super tall heels before but now, no way..LOL
@Really Petite these heels were definitely tricky to walk in! any unevenness in the road and i was in serious danger of rolling my heel! lol. otherwise, they were awesome. :)
Wow - look at those shoes!

Those are some serious heels!!
I don't know how you haven't cracked an ankle yet.
Darling look today and I can't wait to check out DFW post

I see these shoes everywhere and I just love them! Looks so good on you! I really liked them with socks in to tone them down just a little. Beautiful girl!
the socks look great and the shoes are awesome. one of the best things about being short is being able to get away with ridiculously tall shoes!
those are some intense shoes! love the argyle :)
I'm having a giveaway! Cardigans and Cookie Dough
Wow thats some "HIGH" heels and love the look =)

I do like being short but sometimes it'd be nice to reach the top shelf myself and not ask for help. :) I love that argyle sweater on you!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
the socks are way too much! I've seen it on other bloggers but on you, i'm not a fan. you're trying too hard.
Hmm... I'm on the fence about this look. On one hand, I feel the socks go with the outfit nicely. But on the other, I wish the shoes covered more of it... perhaps try the socks with a closed toe pump?
I cant post the blogger meet up too because I need to concentrat on each and every photos lol
I love the socks with the Dany!!! been wanting to try to wear it for a while but havent foung the exact outfit yet! and no you dont look like your being cut you look amazing!!

Hahaha, being able to reach the top shelf is a great reason to love those shoes. I love your necklace it is so pretty.
You can do grocery shopping in those heels? Wow! You are the most high heel savvy girl I have ever known in my life! Need to see a video of you walking in those. You look very cute in Argyle sweaters. The skirt is adorable.
kileen!! you look ADORABLE and CHIC in this outfit! i just love it! all of it!
Top shelf, huh... sweet. It's tough when it's a jar of spaghetti sauce that you have to painstakingly reach with all your tip-toeing glory--'nuff said.
Those shoes are so tall! I don't know if I can walk in those but they look cute on you and Keiko Lynn and other gals I've seen with it.
Oh my goodness! I so admire your ability to wear amazing shoes! And I definitely love them with socks! I can't believe you went grocery shopping in these! They would have had to carry me out on a stretcher.
I have the same pair in tan, I'm looking forward to the summer so I can wear it!
The outfit is very school girl…all grown up. Those shoes are out of control. You go girl~!
