I Had Grandma's Help

Banana Republic Purple Knit Sweater - XS (2009) (buy similar here)
Gap Thermal Top - XS (old) (buy similar here)
Paisley Silk Scarf - gifted from grandma (buy similar here)
Forever 21 Chic Leatherette Stilettos in Tan - 5 (2010) (buy similar here -- <$25!)

I struggled with what to wear this morning.  I had picked out an outfit last night, but somehow it just didn't speak to me this morning.  I must have tried on at least 5 different outfit variations before finally arriving at what you're seeing here.  And it was actually serendipitous too.  I basically had everything that you're seeing here, except the scarf.  I was debating between adding a cardigan, a blazer, or a belt -- and frankly I didn't like any of those ideas.  Then, as I was looking for what shoes to wear, I noticed this scarf on the floor.  It was like my eureka moment!  The scarf was exactly what I was looking for!  It was gifted to me from my grandma over Christmas, and I'm so happy to finally be able to wear it! What an awesome way to start off the day.  ^_^

And since it's Thursday, I wanted to do a special "Awkward and Awesome" post a la Sydney at The Daybook.  Here's my list:

    Awkward:
        •    Going out for sushi and smelling soy sauce for the rest of the nice cause your hair accidentally dipped into the soy sauce/wasabi bowl.  *oops*
        •    Running out of napkins and paper towels in the house and having to use a bath towel to wipe my mouth at dinner.
        •    Walking into my boss’s office only to find that he’s sitting there with his shoes off.  Um, should I come back later?

    Awesome:

        •    My computer tower doubling as both a footrest and a space heater.  Nothing beats having warm feet!
        •    Getting a $500 discount on my wedding pictures.  I’m an expert negotiator.  Thank you, Asian genes.  :)
        •    Just realizing that I have Monday off from work cause it’s MLK Day!!  Three-day weekend here I come!

What were your awkward and awesome moments this week?

P.S. Please nominate cute and little for "Best New Weblog" for the 2011 Bloggies Awards!  It would mean the world to me.

The scarf is lovely! The pattern is really cute! Hebei see that your makeup matches as well <3 Are the f21 heels comfortable?

An awkward moment? Most likely my boyfriend telling me that I smell like tempura for the rest of the evening! I work at a sushi joint part-time, and for some reason I smell like tempura! Haha we don't even serve that much tempura or fried specialty dishes either!

Awesome moment? Finally finding the blue watch my boyfriend searched high and low for! It's always awesome and surprising whenever I find something that's been sold out for a while. :D

@Christina unfortunately the F21 shoes aren't the most comfortable shoes if you plan on walking a lot. for me, since i have a desk job and sit for most of the day, it doesn't bother me. i have, however, spent 4 hours shopping in these shoes and i was actually ok. but any more than 4 hours and my feet would've been killing me! :)

I hate mornings where I try on five or six things and don't like any of them. However, it usually turns out that the resulting outfit becomes on of my faves. Love the scarf!

The first thing I noticed when I saw you in the outfit was the scarf.
I really like the colors against that beautiful blue top
The pinks and lavender's make your skin glow!

Your outfit is beautiful and the scarf is the perfect accessory! I also love the photo of you kicking your foot. It's adorable.

Awkward: Smelling like SUBWAY after having a sandwich for lunch. Their bread lingers. Weird.

Awesome: Just found someone else who uses the computer tower under their desk for the SAME REASONS as me! :)

500 dollars off? That is awesome.

You're really working that scarf too. Makes me want one just like it, even though it's not really my style.

I'm totally in love with the scarf!! I need to pull mine out too, i think besides from belt, scarf is the most awesome accessories to pop out an outfit color.
