I think I hit a big milestone today. My J. Brand skinny jeans inspired my mom to buy a pair of skinny jeans herself. Yes, my mom is now wearing skinny jeans because of me. I first wore them over to my parents' place for Thanksgiving and also a couple weeks later when we all met up for wedding cake tasting. I had no idea but apparently my mom admits that she had been eying them on me the entire time and finally decided to go out and find her own pair. She now has her own pair of black skinny jeans. And let me tell you, she definitely knows how to rock them in a killer pair of heels too (now you know where I get my love of high heels from). Mom, you have made me proud! ^_^
Meanwhile can I tell you how much I love this fur vest? It was the perfect pick-me-up for this busy Saturday as I was out braving the crazy holiday traffic and talking to different Asian cake bakeries. We ended up deciding not to go with an Asian bakery for our wedding (they don't deliver and were reluctant to make a 3-tier fruit cake without pillars), but we did end up reserving a fruit cake for my mom's birthday next weekend! I'm excited. I can't even remember the last time I had an Asian birthday fruit cake!

Hehehe I giggled when you mentioned your mom wearing skinnies because of you! I talked my mom into buying a pair of skinnies recently and they look SOOO much better on her than her other jeans (she's 4'11). It was a such a battle but she's completely won over by them now! :)

Asian fruit cakes are the best! The frosting is so light and all the fruit inside... Yum!

Congrats on converting your mom to skinnies! Yeah, for my wedding cake, I decided to go with a non-Asian bakery (the bakery was run by a Vietnamese guy (!!! - the one and only bakery we met with run by a guy....it seems like wedding cake industry, at least in Toronto, are dominated by women!) as well. Asian bakeries just don't have as good service, especially with delivery. The only benefit you get are the cake cards you can stuff into your invites.

we usually trade shoes when I use to live with her, but not anymore since we are so far away...

I had asian cake at my wedding- it was green tea cake with coconut filling, SOOOOOOO GOOD. Like, seriously. I want to go order another cake right now. And it was pretty, too! Most of the asian bakeries that we went to do deliver and have the pillars for the tiered cakes.. maybe you weren't finding the right ones?? :(
