I love shopping.  In particular, I love shopping and finding a great dress when I least expect it at a price that is unbeatable!  Such was the case with this outfit.  I found myself at Macy's one day just looking through their racks of clothes in the Junior's department as I was bored and had received a 15% coupon in the mail for Macy's that weekend.  Just as I was about to walk out, a cute dress caught my eye by the cashier's station.  I flipped through the sizes and found that the smallest size was a 3.  Usually I'm a size 0 so I was a bit skeptical of the fit, but I really wanted the dress to fit so off to the dressing room I went.  Much to my surprise, the dress fit like a perfectly!  I was elated.  This is Part I of my pleasant surprise.

Part II begins as I was laying in bed checking my email before going to sleep.  I saw an email from Mintbox, a sample sale site similar to Hautelook, saying that Steve Madden shoes were at least 30% off plus an additional 5% rebate.  I've never purchased anything from a sample sale site before, but when my eyes saw these cute blush suede pumps on sale after I had been eyeing them months before, I knew I had to take a leap of faith.  The price drop was actually more than 50% -- from $129.95 to $59.95 -- and they had a size 5.5.  Although all signs pointed to the fact that these shoes were calling my name, I was wary.  I've had comfort issues with Steve Madden shoes before.  Steve Madden likes to pinch my toes.  But I had recently gotten lucky with a pair of Steve Madden Caryssa pumps.  I decided to take the plunge.  When the shoes finally arrived two weeks later, I was thrilled.  The shoes were absolutely adorable.  My toes also had enough room in there so that they weren't scrunched up and squished.  Maybe Steve Madden has altered their fit.  Not sure.  Either way though, my risk taking paid off.  Yet another pleasant surprise.

Two pleasant surprises make my outfit for today.  Half luck and half faith add up to a completely happy me.  ^_^
