OOTD: (Not) Straight Outta J. Crew

Urban Outfitters Silence and Noise Boyfriend Blazer - XS
Gap Basic T-Shirt - XS
Charlotte Russe Pebble Skinny Jean - 0S
Forever 21 Braided Grey Pumps - size 6
Charlotte Russe Flower Necklace

I had a late start this Friday so I didn't have my usual luxury of mulling over my daily outfit this morning.  I was actually planning  on just putting on the most basic white t-shirt and jeans outfit until I saw my new Urban Outfitters blazer that I had recently hauled hanging by the door.  Thank goodness it was there to remind me creating an outfit that looks put together really doesn't need much work.  I threw that on and found a nice big necklace to put on over the white t-shirt and was out the door.  Looking at my outfit later that day, I actually didn't think it was too bad.  Outfit add-ons like blazers and necklaces really do make a huge difference!

Now normally I can wear whatever I want to work and nobody on my team ever says anything (I'm the only girl in a small technology team of eight and I think the married guys don't want me to take it the wrong way).  Although this would drive some girls crazy -- looking all cute and nobody noticing -- I actually don't mind at all as I really just enjoy getting dressed up for myself.  However, today was different.  My boss actually mentioned to me that "you look straight out of J. Crew".  I found this super surprising as I really don't consider him the fashion forward type.  Regardless of the actual validity of his comment, I realized that he had actually noticed what I was wearing and this was his version of a compliment!  For a person who doesn't really go fishing for attention, attention when you least expect it is a definite bonus.  Thank you blazers for instantly amping up the chic factor of my look today!

Now one last pic for shameless cam-whoring purposes.  ^_^

Thanks for reading!

hahaha, that's awesome! What a great compliment :) You look great by the way. I prefer getting compliments from women because it's more sincere (I think) - most guys don't know what looks good and what doesn't anyway. The only guy's opinion I value is my husbands of course ;)
